Welcome New Executive Director,
Christine Walker

strengths and resources currently available within the Upper Valley
region. I will work with the Commission and staff to prioritize
strategies for improving communications and services to the region's
communities."
The Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission is pleased to announce Christine Walker as its new Executive Director.
Ms Walker most recently worked for the North Country Council, a regional planning commission in northern New Hampshire. She was responsible for natural resource planning and economic development projects and was instrumental in obtaining funding and implementation of the Dartmouth Regional Technology Center located in Centerra Park, Lebanon NH.
She comes to the Commission with a solid background in grant writing and administration, project development and economic development strategies and resources. She collaborated with over 75 diverse organizations and businesses while at North Country Council including the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and the Main Street programs within the North Country, Grafton County Economic Development Council, Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust and AHEAD, providing project development and leadership to help build sustainable communities.Christine received her BS degree in Natural Resource Planning from the University of Vermont. Prior to becoming a planner in New Hampshire, she worked in administration for the University of Vermont for several years and was a manager of several retail operations. Walker enjoys kayaking and bicycling throughout New England and is a Board member of the Passumpsic Valley Land Trust. Walker and her husband, Rick, live in Vermont with their daughter Jessica, a junior at St. Johnsbury Academy and son Charlie a recent graduate from St. Johnsbury Academy who will attend Wentworth Institute of Technology in the fall.
