Newport Master Plan Update

Project Summary:
The Commission is working with the Town of Newport Planning Board and Staff to review and update existing Master Plan chapters. To date, the Commission has assisted with a community attitude survey, collaborated with the UNH Cooperative Extension to facilitate a community visioning workshop. Upon completion of the project updates to the Master Plan will include:
- Land Use and Community Vision
- Transportation
- Community Facilities and Services
- Housing
- Historic Resources
- Natural Resources
- Water Resource Management Protection Plan
- Future Land Use
Additionally, the Commission is assisting in developing the following updated maps for the Master Plan:
- Existing Land Cover Map
- Natural Resources Maps (including water supply resources, flood storage, wildlife habitat, and important agricultural lands)
- Water Resources Map
Overall, the Commission is working with Newport to identify growth and development issues that will impact existing and future land uses and its overall community vision.
