Natural Resources

The Natural Resources projects conducted by the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission typically focus on assessing a particular resource and developing plans based on input from communities about their goals. Natural Resource planning supports a wide range of issues including water, species conservation, land protection, and regulatory policy. Natural Resources projects promote sustainable land use practices and raise public awareness of the importance of protecting the region’s valued resources.

Some examples of planning support that the Commission has provided are:

-      Natural Resources Inventories
-      Watershed Assessments and Plans
-      Groundwater Protection Ordinances
-      Source Water Protection Plans
-      Low Impact Development techniques for stormwater
-      Collect stream and wildlife data at Culvert Stream Crossings
