Project Title:
Greater Sullivan County Household Hazardous Waste Committee
Related Services:
Project Summary:
Every day, people dump hazardous waste down their drains, into their trash, or onto the ground. These toxins eventually make their way into our drinking water. Teaching people the responsible options they have is critical to keeping our drinking water safe. Vist the HHW web site.
The Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission (UVLSRPC) is working with the Greater Sullivan County HHW Committee, which currently has several members. It is hoped that the membership will grow to represent more Sullivan County towns and the three Merrimack towns in the UVLSRPC region. The purposes of the committee are to educate the public about non-toxic or less-toxic alternatives to common household products, and how to properly dispose of hazardous waste that may already be in thier homes. Committee volunteers are trained and participate at HHW / Unwanted Medicines collections.
Anyone interested in joining the Committee can contact Victoria Davis at vdavis@uvlsrpc.org
